Yesterday Google made a big change to Google Places: they have integrated them with Google Plus and have named the new service Google Plus Local that is available in Google+ as one of the icons on the left hand side of the screen.
The service is also integrated with Zagat, a company Google acquired that had reviews as its main business. Every local place can get rated by users from 0 to 3 and gets a rating from Google from 0 to 30.
Google Maps listings now take you to Google Plus Local listing. Here you can see the listing of my company that was moved from Google Places to Google Plus.
The funny thing (or to-do thing) is that editing the listing still takes you to the old Google Places for Businesses.
